Gordo, as is known worldwide in the jiu jitsu and martial art world, he has taught Jiu-Jitsu for over 20 years, also he has taught some great champions in both jiu-jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. He stands as Jiu Jitsu coach for such names as Celso Vinicius, Braga Neto, Rafael dos Anjos, Renato Babalu and Kyra Gracie.
Biography:
A resident of Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, started in jiu-jitsu in 1986, at the age of 15, influenced by his close friend Ralph Gracie.
At 18 years at purple belt, he suffered a serious knee injury and had to readapt to training, thus, developed the half guard position and became known as “offensive creator of half guard.” Today this is one of the most used positions in jiu-jitsu and MMA today.
In 1993, at age 22, he became black belt and won many titles, national and international, devoting himself as a competitor.
Throughout his career, he taught at prestigious academies such as: Playground with Ralph Gracie, Gracie Ipanema with Renzo Gracie and Gracie Ribeirão Preto.
Gordo is a skilled athlete and teaches jiu-jitsu very offensive style of jiu jitsu. Today he spends all his experience to his students in his academy in New Largo da Barra and Leblon.
