For a very long time, Jiu-Jitsu has needed an event that offered more than just competition in order to fully promote and appreciate the growth of the sport. Well, we finally have one!
On Saturday, May 12th, 2012, the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo (WJJE) will host its inaugural event at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California in what will surely be one of the biggest “can’t miss” events of the year. Professor Grant Collins is encouraging everyone to attend this event. It will be an opportunity to watch your team mates compete, experience the culture of Jiu Jitsu and learn from some of the top fighters in the world.
The Optimus Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competition Team will be competing at the ‘Long Beach Open’ alongside the ‘World Jiu-Jitsu Expo’. This tournament is IBJJF sanctioned; both the organizations and refereeing will be at the highest standard. Students from Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo and Laguna Niguel will be competing in the martial art competition.
The WJJE will be the first event to specifically promote the sport of Jiu-Jitsu by itself in its entirety. In what will be an unforgettable Festival of Jiu-Jitsu, “gentle art” aficionados in attendance will also be able to network with some of the biggest companies in the business, buy and sell the best BJJ gear on the market at various vendor booths, attend autograph sessions, and engage in Q&A sessions with some of the biggest names in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our very own Technically Sound guys will be representing as well.
The Expo will include:
– IBJJF Long Beach Spring Invitational Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship
– Free Jiu-Jitsu Seminars taught by some of the greatest Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts in the world including; The roster of seminars will be taught by Roger Gracie, Robert Drysdale, Rodrigo Comprido, Andre Galvão, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Ricardo “Cachorrão” Almeida, and Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu.
– Jiu-Jitsu Super Fights;

Rafael Lovato Jr. vs. Kayron Gracie
Kron Gracie vs. Victor Estima
Caio Terra vs. Jeff Glover
– Stop by the Technically Sound booth, Design a gi and win a gi.
The best part is that the event will be the stage for all things Jiu-Jitsu and costs only $15.00*!
